Can you make a difference in how NYC Schools are funded?
Absolutely!
Tell Governor Pataki to put the Campaign for Fiscal Equity lawsuit in the budget this year to fix our overcrowded classrooms and crumbling schools!
You could say something like:
"I want the Governor to know that, as a New Yorker, I am disappointed that he cut over $1.5 billion for new schools in New York City, including my borough.
New York schools have been underfunded for years and are overcrowded with unacceptable facilities. Governor Pataki has a legal and moral responsibility to fund project that will address years of neglect.
Even though this year NY has a $3.3 billion surplus and has promised to improve education throughout the state, Governor Pataki has not funded these important projects for my area.
I want Governor Pataki to comply with the Campaign for Fiscal Equity lawsuit and fully fund New York City school districts."
