I am so excited to launch the City Council's newest initiative:
NYC Women First: Health Starts with You.
Too often, women prioritize the needs of others first - at home, at work, with family, with friends, and in relationships. Please join with me and women across the city in making the next year one in which we focus on ourselves and our health as a major priority.
Every month, we will be working with our partners on promoting one of the 12 ways that women can be healthier. This month, we're working to make sure that women take the time to get screened for breast cancer, and know that there are even free or low-cost mammograms for any City resident.
Let's make this a great year for NYC women!

Christine C. Quinn, Speaker
New York City Council

Council Speaker Quinn, joined by Emmy-award winning journalist Leslie Stahl, Deputy Mayor Patti Harris, former NAACP President Hazel Dukes and other prominent NYC women, call for women to raise awareness about the declining rates of Mammograms in the city and across the country. |
